Still waiting here in the US. Tickets usually go on sale about a month before release, so anytime now.

Cool, should snag some IMAX ones. I got my Dark Knight tickets for the midnight screening on June 27th last year (for the 18th), then like a day or two later they were sold out! I still can't believe how ridiculous the fan response was, wonder if Transformers will sell out early (likely some).

Speaking of which, are you in the GTA? Please tell me you know of an IMAX that is actually a bloody IMAX and not some crappy tiny room where they shove you face first in to the screen!

I haven't enjoyed a single IMAX screen in Canada, I was however completely blown away by a ginormous screen in Houston, TX. I have to see or know of a real IMAX here in Toronto.

I love the new Digital screens from cineplex, and I plan on seeing Transformers there.

Heh, well, the OMNI Max at the Ontario Science Centre contains the largest screen in Canada, maybe even NA. Too bad they don't show Hollywood films there.
However, the worlds largest screen is located in Sydney, Australia.

Haha in which case, the new cineplex digital screens in Oakville and Hamilton will suffice. That IMAX screen in Mississauga really is awful, it almost ruined Dark Knight for me. Too small, too cramped. Not comfortable at all. From what I hear the IMAX in Collosus is similar to the Sauga one?

Wow, I'm not crazy afterall! I knew there was a difference between the Scotiabank one and Colisieum, the latter is so anticlimatic it seems. I'm in Mississauga but saw The Dark Knight at a screening at Scotiabank last year, I've always preferred that IMAX if I had to pick.

Lining up for Transformers at the Scotiabank one would be near suicidal though!

I think I'm gonna wait to buy my tix, cause I have a feeling that they're gonna pull a Star Trek on us, and open it early the night before. But luckily the theatre I work at has them on sale, just need to bug my managers to see if we're gonna have it in digital (considering that if everything goes to plan, we should have a third digital screen by then). But I'm hoping to be at the first show, whether it's at midnight or earlier.

For the record, I'm not even sure Transformers is a day-one movie for me. However last summer, for the 9:30pm sneak preview of The Dark Knight I arrived at the theatre at about 7pm. I kinda just associate that place with waiting amongst the Batman crowd.

My fave IMAX is definitely the one downtown Toronto at the Paramount. ( I refuse to give into those damn product placement names, I'm looking at you Skydome)
I knew I saw a difference too at the Colossus in Vaughan. That one, and the 'Sauga one is definitely smaller by comparison.
And you can bet I was pissed when I seen that Paramount theatre was not showing Star Trek on IMAX!

However, we should count ourselves lucky... trying finding an IMAX anywhere else in Canada... very few and far between. At least we have three within an hours drive or so each. They're pretty sparse around the rest of the world. But I still think Durham region can use one.

Isn't Paramount a corporate brand?

I agree, I see/saw random posters upset that they had to drive hours to see The Dark Knight last year, meanwhile I actually saw it on two separate IMAX screens near my house, not including Colossus which was also an option (probably closer than Scotiabank).

Yes, it is. Yet it's also a descriptive word.
Before Scotia Bank bought out Cineplex, and before Cineplex bought out Famous Players, was the Paramount Theatre in Toronto really owned by Paramount Co.? I'm not sure on it's history.

However, that being said, I still think Paramount is a much better word/name for the theatre than Scotia Bank.
