Angry NBC ostracizes Kings to summer

I was wondering why last night when I did a search the timer it was there, and than today it was completely gone, wow, NBC WTG.

Big-budget drama put in the can until warmer weather, if it returns at all; was it really ever given a fighting chance?

Oh, woe is Kings. The ambitious ready-for-cable drama tried to break the mold of network television, but instead finds itself broken and discarded into NBC's ever-growing trash bin of failed shows.

NBC has opted to shelve Kings until the summer, essentially killing the series only five episodes in. In its place, NBC will air repeats of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit in the Saturday night time slot. Ouch. The remaining episodes are scheduled to return beginning June 13, but I'll believe that when I see it.

Kings was--for the most part--well received by critics for its originality and stellar cast, but the program was an absolute ratings disaster. There's little doubt that NBC was unsure of what to do with it, as its premiere date bounced around a few times before finally settling in on Sunday nights. After a few awful performances, NBC exiled the show to Saturday nights, leaving it to die.

Kings fans have a legitimate beef with NBC--the show was barely given a chance. Promotion for the show was horrid; hardly anyone knew it was on, let alone what it was about.

ive been watching it and it seems like it would have made a better miniseries, than a full new show/series.

nbc should hire me as an exec i can tell when their shows wont do good. southland, not bad, but will be cancelled. parks and recreation, its gotta get a whole lot funnier fast, and shouldnt be next to the office, or it soon will be cancelled.

Actually from everything I been reading, Southland has got pretty good chances of renewal right now.
