A 100,000 euros is around US $136,000. Just a little outside of my budget.

Why would anybody buy this in lieu of a projector?

I suppose that aside from a nice big screen, you can enjoy it without having to turn off all the lights like you would have to with a projector. But for the same amount of money, you could built a killer home theater. If this thing ever comes to market, in about 5 years, you'll be able to buy it at Best Buy or Costco for $4999.

Looks utterly impractical.

By the time this thing could possibly be of reasonable price, a better and cheaper option will be available.

I admit the automatic stand is pretty cool but what practical reason is there for your TV being at ground level when not in use? Sounds like a good way for someone's foot to accidentally go through the screen.

At least it has a Panasonic panel in it and not a B&O designed panel, but this is absolutely a niche product. Panasonic mostly sell their 103" panels to sports arenas/stadiums, hotels and business boardrooms.
