Default Twilight saga problems

When the first Twilight was released, I had a cheap insignia blu-ray player, so the movie Twilight didn't play. Then I changed it for a Sony BDP-S550 and the movie played fine.

Now I have a Sony Home Theatre System BDV-E870 and it's weirder than ever.

The first one play but the running time don't appear, no sound and I don't have access to any of buttons, play, stop, forward etc.. when the sound finally kicks in, it's not the language I selected. Only thing I can do is push the power off on the player and when I do, the sound stops and the movie continue to play...

The same thing happens with the second movie, but it stops at the first logo. Again I have to push power off to be able to do something...

Same problems seem to be affecting the third movie, the running time is working, but I have the subtitles on and no sound. I can change chapters and wow, i have sound.....

I don't beleive that there is a problem with my sony player but is there something wrong with E1 entertainment products?

I didn't read anywhere that your player is up to date with the latest firmware release. Perhaps that is your problem. I have the sony BDP-S570 and I had no issues playing any of the twilight movies.

The player has the latest firmware release.

Same thing happens with Jumper. The movie froze and I can't do anything else, even with the flash drive plugged in.

Have you tried turing off your internet connection? Sometimes BD-Live could cause the problems, or so I have heard, I havent ever had an issue with a movie not playing.

I have never tried that. But Is it causing damage to turn off the power while the movie is playing, since it's the only way to make it stop?

didn't worked.

Called sony and they told me to try a factory reset.

Jumper is now playing.

First Twilight plays, running time appears and I can use the remote but movie still starts without sound, fast forward to chapter 2 and I have sound, if i come back to chapter 1 now I have sound. Load Time when you select play is long.

New Moon is still isn't working , fix image on the summit logo 0:00:00, but I could use the stop feature of the remote, took long to stop the fixed image.
Second try using chapter 2 as a starter still gives a fixed image at 0:11:03
Third try unglugging the internet connection and the movie starts....

Retried the first Twilight without internet connection and it still takes time to start the movie once I pushed play and the movie still starts without sound.

At least these movies are for my wife and daughters...

Now, if I do firmware update, will the previous problems re-appear?
