Thumbs up How the West Was Won is only $16.99 at Future Shop!

This is a great deal as this title is usually priced at $32.99!
I don't know how long it will stay at this price so snag it quick if you're interested.

Picked it up at this price on Sunday, along with Clint Eastwood's Pale Rider! Fantastic deal!

Thanks for mentioning it, I thought about posting the deal, but didn't know if people would be interested in the deal or not. I hope they are, cause that's great price for what I thought was a very good movie.

The documentary almost outshines the movie though...

It's $16.95 at Amazon.ca now. Amazon has been competiting with the retailers quite a bit lately.

That's great to hear. Competition is awesome for us consumers.

HDmark, I always search and check for threads that already exist, but I will not hesitate to post deals in the future.

Bonnie & Clyde is also $16.99 there among a few other titles that I can't recall since I only bought B&C.

I bought "Bonnie and Clyde" on Wednesday at $16.99 and "How the West..." was still there at that price as well.

As of today (Friday) its still online at $16.99 as well. I think this week's flyer is good for 2 weeks(?)

Go get a refund, my friend...

Beautiful transfer but there were too many scenes where you can see the 3 strip technicolor. It's very distracting after a while

Anybody else agree??

Some of the long vista shots were very noticeable, but I found watching the Cinerama version on the second disc actually managed to hide the lines in a few more scenes. But, those lines will always be there. There were only two live action films shot in Cinerama, so it's unique, and to be honest with you it gives it a nostalgic and unique look to the film.

The Brother's Grimm was the other film. After those two films other films used the name Cinerama, but were shot on 70mm and stretched to the curved screen. You could imagine the enormous problem shooting with three cameras at once... Cinerama was a good idea, but very impractical for live action films.
