Default Center channel and screen immersion

Right now my tv is on a long entertainment stand. Directly center, and under the tv is an opening where I have placed my cs2. The cs2 fits (just barely) and the center of the tweeter to the center of the tv is probably, 22-26".

Now, what I appear to have going on is, the sound doesnt have the feel of coming from the tv. In other words it doesnt have any depth to the screen. The sound doesnt feel as though it is coming from the actors.

I can mount the center above the tv, maybe I can set the tv on it (I would have to check)

I hope I made this topic clear. I find it very annoying, and last night watching dirty harry it was very noticeable, probably because of the remastering of the old track.(great transfer and sound btw)
