While they aren't official, they seem pretty legit from the reviews. I had HD cables but lost them in a move, so I never got them again. They did make a pretty noticable difference, so I'll probably pick some of these up for about $7 total, thanks for posting.

They Wii doesn't display an HD signal, so I assume you mean component cables.

component cables carry HD...but, the Wii is limited to 480p. and, 480p looks much better than 480i on a 50" HDTV...

Also true.

I've got component cables for my Wii, and it is MUCH better than the composite.

I actually "went nuts" and bought the Monster brand, but only because I originally needed it in an extra long size (this was before I got my A/V receiver). I found that on eBay new for like $20ish shipped. You can definitely get by with generic, though.

Two-star ranking, 100% wheel usage. Booyah.

This is Blu-ray.com, we will buy anything just to get that extra bit of performance! If the Wii and basic graphics are not your cup of tea, fine, but no need to rain on other people and their parade. It's not all about HD video games...I quite enjoy the Ninendo games.

Would you rather get bad PS2 level or good PS2 level? I got HD cables for my PS2 and it looks better then the cheapest of the cheap cables that came with it originally. Same thing for the Wii.

If you have an old SD TV, why would you not want to get the best out of it? Same applies for HD TV's and the Wii. Why settle? S-video is noticeably better on the SD TV's still in use at my house than a regular cable connection.

look at my gallery pics, tell me what you see in my entertainment center. I didn't think the Wii had HD games so i didn't see a point in getting HD cables. If a video games is formatted at 480P the only thing your going to get through that HD cable is 480P.

Not trying to call you out or anything, but I think the idea is that the component cable is going to give you a much better picture than the cable that comes with the Wii, which is composite. There's really no question that the component (even if it's a generic) is going to have a picture that is far greater than the composite. We're not arguing about whether the Wii puts out HD; we all know it doesn't.

Put another way: would you rather hook up your DVD player via composite or component? DVD isn't HD, but anyone who's into this stuff knows damn well that they're going to get a much better image out of that DVD if they go with component.

You're right that you're only going to get 480p from the component cable, but believe it or not, there is a significant improvement in image quality over the 480i that you get without the component cable. At least that was the case on my 720p LCD. It also, for whatever reason, seemed to improve the lag (most noticeable with Guitar Hero). Perhaps it eliminated some time-consuming processing that my TV was having to do when being fed 480i over composite.
