Tim Burton + Alice in Wonderland = Yay.

I've been wanting an AiW from Burton for years.

I still think Alice should be a younger girl (like the book). I was ok when it was Sarah Michelle Gellar but she's Buffy so that's different.

I'm sure I'll enjoy it regardless.

Alice does look older that imagined; however, since this is Tim Burton, I'll bite...I've always loved his work and I'm sure he has a reason for making her a little older....

I dunno about that Josh. Did you ever rad the book "Through The Looking Glass" by Louis Carroll? It is pretty messed up.

I agree - Burton is more suited to McGee's Alice.

I'm kinda tired of Tim Burton's world.

Everything is like:
Here's what Batman would be like, in Tim Burton's World!
Here's what Willy Wonka would be like, in Tim Burton's World!
Here's what Sleepy Hollow would be like, in Tim Burton's World!

I like when Burton's imagery is married to an original story (Beetle Juice, Edward Scissorhands, etc) - I usually don't care for him to take known properties, cause his vision rarely fits what I would picture for that world - and, it usually looks very much like any of his other movies.

Sure, he's visionary - but how about a different "vision" once in a while.

Yup, and I think American McGee did some great work bringing it to the extreme without losing touch of the original story. He would have been a great addition to the team of recreating the story is a dark and sinister way.

I already see this as another Chocolate Factory

I respect that, but I actually liked his Chocolate Factory compared to the original. I never liked Wilder's version. Too lame in my opinion.

I think this is extremely interesting. Burton going postal on this story certainly deserves my attention.

Could be a dissapointment but then again every movie has the pontential for that, right?

I was incredibly disappointed with Chocolate Factory.

Burton did almost NOTHING different than the original. Updated visuals (the Wonka backstory was nice to have) - but everything in the factory was the same. I expected to see something truly fun and magical - nope.

Maybe I wouldn't have been so bored if I hadn't seen the original - but everything Burton had to show me - I had seen before.

This is one of those movies where there was no real reason to do the remake.
