Brittany Murphy and David Zayas have joined the cast of The Expendables, Sylvester Stallone's action-adventure being produced by Nu Image/Millennium Films, says The Hollywood Reporter.

The film, which stars Stallone, Jason Statham, Mickey Rourke, Jet Li, Randy Couture, Terry Crews, Eric Roberts, Charisma Carpenter and Giselle Itie, follows a team of mercenaries who head to South America on a mission to overthrow a dictator.

Murphy will play Rourke's girlfriend, a singer. The part calls for her to perform a musical number. Zayas will play the dictator.

Stallone wrote the screenplay and is directing the film, which began production this week in Brazil. The production also will film in Louisiana.

Hahahah it's Batista?!?! How after 3 seasons did I still not know his name, wow that is awesome. Yeah I think Trejo used to be that way, and than it was Robert LaSardo or (tattoo man) as my mom called him for years. I still haven't seen Dexter (it's on my "to see" list), but I thought he was good as Morales in Oz. I still think of him as "that guy from Oz" every time I see him.

Oh jesus I know, she is a horrible actress. The only person on the entire show i just can't stand, I really beg for her death every season, but not likely, especially since she recently married her tv brother in real life.......

It will film in Harahan Louisiana about 1 mile from where I am sitting right now. I'm so going to get autographs hopefully. Either that or arrested for stalking...
