we should start a paypal account and everyone should put in money like a fund raiser, then when we have over 150 million we can see if we can make a charitable donation to help save the Blu-ray cause
eh screw em I turn my back on paramounted, who needs that used up ***** when I have a beautiful new fox.

At least the petition might show Universal and Warner our dedication to the cause. Might have a swaying effect.

doubt it, writing works best or real petitions. But in this case green bills and written contracts is the only way to go with this company.
I will go ahead anyway and do the petition for you and the cause but I sincerely doubt anything will work.

Well, it won't hurt anything to sign it, so might as well right?

I show my petitioning by not buying their product or seeing their films at the movies. Money talks and bulls@#t walks, and the studios who are still in support of the better format Blu Ray will get my money.

I'd much prefer Universal to Paramount if that thing about Spielberg and Francis Ford Coppola's films not being part of the exclusivity deal is correct.

Instead of having a petition:

MAKE SURE YOU BUY TWO BR on October 16 when Transformers comes out. Taking that week for the BR camp will be the loudest statement this community could ever make.

Forget petitions and boycotts.

We would all like to think we can make something happen with either of these options, but the truth is, it will not matter, honestly.

What we need to do is support our format, period. Talk with people on the fence trying to decide which way to go in a positive way. Get more people to support Blu.

Bottom line, buy the movies on Blu. That is all that is going to matter in the long run and what the studios will be looking at. Yes, money can and will be thrown around, but Warner for instance resisted the urge to go Hd-DVD exclusive and is waiting to see how the sales will go in the 4th quarter. This is where we as the "consumer" can make a difference.

Trying to be the voice of reason and reality,

I wholeheartedly agree with this approach. For this, and all other such "pushes", we need to emphasize to our members the need to consummate the sale that week i.e. pre-ordering something that week will have zero effect on the Nielsen's we're attempting to influence. Only orders fulfilled during the week of interest do.

I see a lot of posters saying things like "I did my part by pre-ordering Spider Man!". We need to help those folks understand how the "system" works.
