Default Monster Power Conditioner

i got to talking with one of my coworkers and he mentioned that he bought a home theater setup 2 years ago in best buy. when he got home, he realized they gave him 2 monster power conditioners by mistake. he had no use for the other one, so it has been sitting under his bed for the past 2 years brand new in the box. it is the Monster Power HTS 2600 MKII. he brought it to work today and it is definitely brand new. what do you guys think would be a good price for me to buy it?! he said he was thinking like $200.

The 2600 Mk II is a good power conditioner. I have a 3500 Mk II and also a 2500 Mk II, and they work really well at protecting and cleaning the signal path.

Having said that, I must tell you that I bought my 2500 Mk II new for $170. I would work him down from $200, because you don't have the benefit of having a valid receipt for the warranty.

It's worth pursuing, but I would try talking him down to $100-150. I just checked online, and it's going price is $200.

Definitely what he said. You can get 'em new for around $150, with a warranty.

amazon. I think onecall.com had them for fairly cheap around christmas. Honestly for the money your better off getting a apc h15 which can be had for a little over 100 last time I checked.

Going by Monster's reputation. You would probably be paying more for their power conditioner when the quality is no better than some of the lower priced competitors.

While that is true in most cases, I have to give Monster credit for their power conditioners. They are excellent and usually can be found for a really good deal if you look hard enough. I got my Monster HTS 2000 MKII from some online retailer for $121 3 years ago and I just checked Amazon and it's $300 on there today. The deals are out there, you just got to find them.
