Mr. and Mrs. Smith on Blu Ray - Blu-ray Forum

Does anyone know what the deal is with Mr. and Mrs. Smith on Blu-Ray.

I have had this movie on order with Amazon.com for the last 5 months and they keep pushing it out. As a matter of fact, if I click on the product link now it tells me it is not available and to frequently check back.

None of my local Best Buys, Targets, Circuit City, Walmarts of Fry's have the movie in stock.

I am unable to find the BD on DeepDiscountDVD.

What is going on with this movie????

It's from Fox, which has temporarily put all their BD releases on hold with no new dates or timetable as to when they'll be available. They'll probably start back up this fall, but it's still "TBD". Whether titles like Mr and Mrs Smith will still come out when they do, is anybody's guess. I'm surprised Amazon hasn't cancelled your order yet.

Alright; so it sounds like a missed something. Why did Fox put BD Movies on hold exactly?

They're not saying, but it's believed that it's because AACS was cracked and they're waiting on BD+, BD's extra copy protection that Fox reportedly pushed for and is probably one of the main reasons they're exclusive to BD.
