Hi Everyone,
I'm going to pull the trigger on purchasing a 6 pack kit of the Cyron lights(comes w/ six 15" light bars), and I have some questions. I'll be using this w/ my 65" DLP, and I was thinking about two light bars across the top, and one on each side. Of course the DLP is not a flat panel tv, and the lights would be about 2' from the wall, so I'm wondering...will I have too little light? Too much? Is there a dimmer that comes with this kit? How bright are these lights? The wall behind the tv is actually a crimson color, so colors like green would look strange, so I was thinking about just setting the color to "clear". I've searched in the forums and have found user pictures and I see every color option except "Clear", so I'm wondering...can you set the light bars to "Clear"? Thanks very much, - John |

I have my lights with only one on the top and then one within my TV stand and then 2 on the back of each of my front speakers. I used to have them with one on top and bottom and and one on each side of the back of the TV, but I felt it caused the light to look too "clustered". I wanted the light bars to look more independent of each other, which I achieved with the way they are now. I have before and after pics in my gallery to give you and idea of what I mean. To answer your questions: 1) The lights will give off a nice amount of light in my opinion, not too much or too little. My TV is also about 2 feet from the wall, (again you can look in my gallery to see what it looks like) 2)There is no dimmer, but again, the amt of light is just about right. 3) The look of the lights in the pics also looks a little brighter than they actually are. Probably just the way a camera catches the image. They do not look as bright in the pics, but they are plenty bright enough regardless. 4) Yes, there is a white color, and that is basically when all of the LED's are lit at the same time (this is one of the color modes). They are a lot cheaper now than we I got mine (the most available at the time as a complete kit was 4). So I recommend them very highly. Cyron is a great company to deal with as well. Good luck! The lights don't have a dimmer but they do have a slow fade that you can pause when it reaches the color you so desire. i have the A950 with pics in my gallery and I have 2 on top 2 on bottom and one on each side, looks awesome imo.

There is no dimmer, but the colors usually fade in and fade out, so if you were looking to keep it on a certain color, you can pause it when it is not as bright.
I have the 6 light kit, have 2 bars on each side of my 67" DLP and 2 on the top. Since I have curtains behind my tv the light doesn't shine the same way it would on a wall so I kind of wish that i had 3 for the top, but 2 still looks pretty good -- check it out in my gallery. |

Glad to help! By the way, the lightbars are extremely light, so they can be put up almost anywhere and never fall off or fall out of the clips. Play around with the location too, as you don't want to sell yourself short on how effective they can be. I had to play with mine and for my set-up, I feel I got the look I wanted. Everybody has different tastes with different set-ups, so be flexible when setting them up. Good luck!

To the OP, if you look at my gallery I have a picture with the lights paused on white. The white has a blue-ish tint to it, but if you scroll down a couple of pics, you can see the actual blue, and there is a big difference.
And I guess I'm lazy/smart like a couple of the other guys here. I have mine plugged into one of these. |

As far as turning these on and off, I was going to plug them into the back of the receiver. I have a Logitech Harmony remote, so when I power on the system it should power on the Led lights when the receiver powers up. I'm thinking this should do the job.
Thanks again for the input. I'm ready to get these lights hooked up already. - John |
