Default SACD worth it on my system?

So i saw alot of SACD's i wouldnt mind getting but i guess first things first, do you guys think its even worth it on my equipment? (listed in my sig)

If you think i would gain some benefit from moving to SACD are there any decent players that dont cost a million bucks, i was hoping my Sony S350 blu-ray player would but it seems like no dice there. I saw

http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PU...9AV.Kuro?tab=B

for a msrp $199 and its listed to play SACD which is resonably priced, but will it do a good job?

any other players in that price range u might suggest, i took a look at the list but i didnt really find any that were inexpensive

I enjoy SACD and I think you'd notice a difference.

Oppo 980H is a nice SACD player, outputs the DSD from SACD over HDMI to your 806.

Yes, I've heard the OPPO is a fairly decent SACD player for the money. I think this would be a good purchase for you!

You would definitely notice a difference in sound quality with SACD with that system. Some SACD's are better sounding than others but I would recommend you go for it.

I would go with either the Oppo 980H or the Pioneer Elite DV-49.

I had the Oppo but went with the Elite 48AV from Pioneer because it was on sale from Vanns for $99, the Oppo is $169. They have identical feature sets.

My advice would be, get whichever of the two is cheapest, as there are no more 48AV's in stock it will likely be the Oppo.

http://www.oppodigital.com/dv980h/default.asp

And yes you will definitely be able to appreciate the benefits of SACD over CD on your system, easily, without question.

Without a doubt you will benefit from getting SACD on your system. Both the Oppo and Pioneer players would be good choices. Be sure you get a player that can bitstream DSD over HDMI to take full advantage of the SACD format. The only Oppo player that currently bitstreams DSD is the DV-980H. The Pioneer Elite DV-49 will also bitstream DSD over HDMI, so that's another good option to consider.

It's a real shame that SACD didn't succeed beyond being a niche format for audiophiles. It didn't receive the widestream appeal it deserves.

Here is a great deal for anyone looking for a universal dvd player capable of both SACD and DVD-A. The Denon DVD-1940CI is being clearanced for $92.88 (from an original price of $349) with free shipping from Vann's.

Does the Denon DVD-1940CI bitstream DSD from SACD though? I thought it converts it to PCM before outputting the signal.

Either way, $92 would be hard to pass up.

It has HDMI 1.1 so the only way to bitstream DSD would be through iLink, which the 806 doesn't have.

However the TX-SR806 doesn't convert DSD>Analog directly like the TX-SR805 does, it converts it to PCM, so it wouldn't matter either way.

As a match for the TX-SR806 the Denon would be great at that price.

You can buy the Denon or go for the Oppo player. If you think they are too cheap, you can always buy the Burmester CD Player from Germany for around $60,000. It doesn't even play SACD.
