I rarely store much stuff on my computers and so this is the first hard drive upgrade I've made in probably 10+ years. The reason being that I'm backing up my HD DVDs and Blus and it's eating away space. That said, I'm a little rusty with computer upgrades and am having trouble here.
Bought a new internal WD 2TB Caviar Green hard drive for my (only) desktop pc and can not get it recognized in Windows 7. It will show up in "Disk drives" within Device Manager. But it will not show up in "Disk Management" or "My Computer". ![]() ![]() ![]() How do I get this thing working? |

Looks like its there in your Disk Management... it's Disk 1, 1863.02 GB Unallocated. It needs to be formatted.
Microsoft's website can you lead you through that process I imagine: http://windows.microsoft.com/is-IS/w...ard-disk-drive |
