Arrow WB Set for a Primeval Movie

I've never seen this show. Has anybody seen it? Would it make a good movie?

Quote:
IT'S NOW been confirmed that Warner Bros is to make a movie version of ITV's Primeval series.

A month ago I brought readers of The Geek Files a report that Warner Bros had snapped up the screen rights to the Saturday night adventure series, which airs in the US on BBC America and Sci Fi Channel.

Trade magazine Variety today says that, following a six-figure deal, Akiva Goldsman and Kerry Foster will produce the new film through Goldsman's Warner Bros-based Weed Road banner.

Foster said: "There is a solid mythology to the series, but the movie has the dinosaur element of Jurassic Park and the time travel element of Lost and it just feels like the kind of big movie that Warner Bros does well."

Goldsman, who scripted Angels and Demons with David Koepp, will hire a writer to pen the Primeval screenplay, which will transplant the story to the USA.

In the series, prehistoric and futuristic creatures appear through rifts in time called anomalies, with a covert government-sponsored team on the alert for the portals and the monsters.

The movie is part of an expansion bid by the show producers who are planning a further series with a more international feel, to reflect the global success of the show. The producers want to have adventures set outside the UK.

I've been watching it on Sci-Fi Channel every week and it's really not a bad show. Friday's episode was the best one so far. It does remind me of Sliders though. Friday's episode especially.

Overall, I think that it would make a decent movie.

Kept seeing the previews today for the show, but it looks exactly like all the other horrible Sci-Fi channel CGI which is basically shit, so as with all Sci-Fi shows I refused to watch.

I hear you, but you should give this show a chance - it's not Sci-Fi produced (it's ITV) and it's fairly well written and the actors/characters are all interesting. The CGI gets better as the seasons progress (and it's done by the folks who did those dinosaur documentaries in the UK). They keep the CGI to a minimum.

I just watched series 3 episode 8 and although I liked parts of it-this episode was written/directed/acted much too melodramatic for my tastes.

I always miss it up here in Canada, but when I do come across it, I have enjoyed this show.

As per my post earlier today, I actually stumbled into the season three premier an hour ago. Gotta say, I do enjoy this show.
