To the Sarah Michelle Gellar fans out there, it was announced today that she's expecting her first child in May. I find it refreshing that a Hollywood couple established a stable and secure marriage several years before deciding to have their first child. Here's the news:

Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze Jr. are expecting their first child together, a source close to the couple confirms exclusively to PEOPLE. "They're very excited," says the source, adding that the actress, 31, is due in the fall.

Gellar, who has been married to Prinze, 33, for six years, will next shoot the HBO pilot The Wonderful Maladays, for which she serves as an executive producer. Prinze recently shot the comedy pilot No Heroics for ABC.

Haha, understood. Sarah Michelle Gellar has been the closest thing I have to a celebrity idol ever since '97 when Buffy premieed. She's beautiful! I just wish she'd stop choosing horrible films to star in that do nothing to showcase her true talent. Her new HBO pilot sounds promising though!

When I read an article about this yesterday I laughed, because I read an interview with Sarah probably within the last year saying she loves drinking in her hot tub and staying out all night, and is too selfish for children anytime within the next few years. I loved her approach to a fun life, and now she is "happily expecting" I just find that statement to be funny. It was probably like "Damnit, I'm pregnant!" and than the Publicist made that "happy" announcement, haha.

I feel the same way. Except I got into Buffy only a few years back.

Scooby Doo was alright. I thought she did the character well.

I don't really care for her. I think she is an over rated actress. I just liked her in Cruel Intentions and The Grudge 1&2. All her other movies were crap.

It's Sarah Michelle Gellar's birthday today. She's 32 now... of course she's no Diane Lane.

It's also Ritchie Blackmore's (guitarist for Deep Purple and Rainbow) birthday.
