Recently they've had some pretty good blu-ray sales, I guess. This week they have ALL of the new blu-ray releases I want for less than super inexpensive Wal-Mart. I guess the death of their main competition didn't keep them from trying to keep customers happy. Well, me at least.

Really IMO, they are 2nd and trying to keep up with the amazons of the world. The tax thing may help them somewhat. But still paying a workforce that size is going to be hard for them. CC tried and couldn't compete with the online vendors, I'm not sold best buy can either.

And that sucks. Just 2 weeks ago I had a screen burnout on a laptop and really needed to get the info off the hard drive on it. I go to best buy, office depot and officemax..(compusa is already dead in my area).. looking for a usb to ide cable. Guy at best buy straight up told me they can't compete with newegg/zipzoomfly and don't carry that stuff anymore, it's systems and components only. Don't know if it's better to get it cheaper or being able to get it instantly.

I just know I buy more blu-rays from them than anyone else because while they don't always have the best catalog title prices they do have a very good selection. Hastings would probably get a lot more sales from me if they had better prices since they have the best B & M selection I've seen.

I'm very impatient so sometimes I WILL pay $5-8 more to have something in my hand now instead of having to wait 5-15 days to get it.

I always price match Walmart.com at Best Buy. Best price, Reward Zone, and instant gratification FTW.

i buy mostly online. i refuse to pay tax or store markups

go find a tv on the best buy websote....THEN find the same exact tv @ amazon.

look at the difference in price.

even with tax (if/when the bill gets passed for online taxing), im still saving hundreds of dollars by not paying the middle man (best buy)

i go to best buy to look/touch. i write down what i like with model #s......then i go to amazon and toast one up to myself for the amount of $$$ i just saved by being patient and waiting for a shipment within a week

my onkyo 806 is $1000 bucks at brandsmart (best buy doesnt carry onkyo).
i went to amazon and got it for $623 (including shipping BRAND NEW & 's' updated version) to my front door (mid february)
youd be a fool not to look online before you buy something
it wouldve cost me $1060 with tax @ brandsamart. thats a $437 difference!!!
