this film actually aired on broadcast TV the other week (THIS tv if you get the channel. it actually shows some great -and not so great- films regularly). i missed it, but i was psyched to see the commerical advertising it.
im sure it was pan & scan (my VHS probably is too im assuming, its been a while) and edited for content, but i would liked to have seen it anyways. actually, im almost positive they will re-air at some point. they recycle a lot. ill try to catch it at some point. |

I have the DVD and I agree that for the commentary alone, it is worth a purchase. Hilarious!!! ![]() |

![]() ![]() Scream/Shout Factory is releasing it next February as a double feature set with High Spirits (1988). I'm glad that Vampire's Kiss is finally getting a blu-ray release, but I'm disappointed that it's not being released on its own.... I kind of hate it when companies do double features, especially when they put two completely unrelated films together! |

Very mixed feelings about this release, for obvious reasons.
The combined running time for the two movies is 3 hours and 20 minutes, which isn't too much for the picture quality to suffer (Lawrence of Arabia is 3h and 47m). I'm more worried about Shout being trigger happy on the DNR button, which they unfortunately are way too often. The first couple of minutes (opening credits) of the HDTV master have a lot of specks and scratches, which could lead them to DNR it. ![]() The chances of new extras are slim to none, but they better not leave out the excellent audio commentary from the North American DVD. But they could've still dedicated the full disc to VK and included the other cut (theatrical, I believe), which was 10 minutes or so shorter. |
