I may end up being in the minority, but I think it's about time. He started losing his step about 2 seasons before Summerall retired, IMHO.

I still liked hearing him

I had heard on our radio show here in DC/MD they asked Chris Cooley if he had ever heard madden talk and he said yes and almost all of the things he said were going on weren't lol.

He hasn't done it for awhile on the next gen systems just recently they've had him doing more then he'd done previously. Hopefully he can dedicate more time to it now

This is a very sad day for all football fans. Mr. John Madden was one of, if not the best, color analysts the game has ever seen. He will be missed greatly in the booth.
