CONFIRMED: Thomas Dekker Joins 'Elm Street' - Blu-ray Forum

Wow this is surprising news, I didn't know he was even involved in this movie. Sounds like a killer role following the uncertain future of Terminator. I am really loving the way this cast is shaping up. I cannot wait to see who Nancy is.

Bloody-Disgusting has confirmed that an offer was officially made to Dekker to play "Jesse". Thomas Dekker's venture into the horror world is getting to his head as he'll be confronting the dream demon in New Line Cinema's A Nightmare on Elm Street reboot, as sources tell Shocktillyoudrop that he's now in final negotiations to star. No official confirmation just yet, but we're working on it. He will star alongside the previously announced Jackie Earle Haley (Freddy Krueger) and Kyle Gallner (Quentin). Besides playing John Connor in Fox's Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, he's also starred in From Within, Laid to Rest and recently wrapped production on All About Evil. Shooting is slated to begin on the new Nightmare film next month with plans to release it in theaters April 16, 2010.

I can't remember which character is which... is Dekker or Gallner supposed to be the jock, or alpha-male, type?

I want Ashley Greene to somehow be involved.

Gallner is playing Johnny Depp's character and Nancy's boyfriend, so I would assume that makes Dekker playing Rod's character ho was hung in the jail cell in the original. They changed the names though Glenn is now Quentin and I can't remember what Rod's name was changed to.

I was just reading another article about Dekker joining the cast and it said "The star got his start in the horror biz as young David in John Carpenter's Village of the Damned" I recently re-watched that movie and didn't know that little kid was Dekker lol. Now I know why ever since Heroes there was something very strangely familiar about him, but I never bothered to look into his credits.

I might as well admit that somehow I read that as The Village and not Village of the Damned. Which, because it's by Carpenter, is likely better than The Village.

It wasn't a good movie but it was much less of a shit flick than the Village haha.

It looks kind of like Children of the Corn. Which I remembered as amazing then watched it again... mistake.
