Default dynamic range?

So I am configuring my htpc via hdmi and it asks "satelite speakers usually have a limited dynamic range and require they be used with a subwoofer"

If your speakers have full range, select them below.

Ok, so it asks me about my front- left and right
and my rears left-right

What makes it a full range speaker?
Do I have them?

My fronts are Energy C-300B
my surrounds are Bookshelf speakers (cadence)

I believe you mean "Frequency Response", not "Dynamic Range". Set all the speakers to SMALL. Even tower speakers do not always have the adequate low frequency extension to set them to Full Range.

Thanks BD. The reciever uses that term when I configured them...but the computer (windows 7) did not, however when I turn unchecked "dynamic range" the image of the speakers got smaller so I was like.....Hmm and thus I deselected them
