I've got problems between my PS3 and my 1366x768 1080i-capable TV.
It's an LG Plasma. Since the update, the 1080i signal has some problems. When watching text, or thin lines on the screen (PS3 menu, for example) up close, the signal appears to be wavering. It's hard to explain, but the lines seem to jump up a few lines, and reprint themselves semi-transparent on the lines above. It all comes across looking like a signal that has some interference. It is not easily noticed if you are sitting back more than 8 feet from the TV, but at any distance closer than that, you can see it. It happens sporratically every 1 to 5 seconds. The LG service people said that there appears to be some kind of incompatibility between my PS3 and their TV, so they are going to change out a board next week, and see how that works. Anyone else encountering this at 1080i? It works just fine at 720p on this TV, and the same PS3 worked fine at 1080p on another LCD TV. |
