As far as Movie quality goes...... I personally thought it was terrible, and would say a "2" was being nice..... but that's what is great about movies.... there's something for everyone's taste....

reviews are simply opinions of one person, so hey you dont agree with what he says who cares. if you like the movie thats all that should matter to you.

Exactly.... more importantly, the movie got pretty high marks for its technical merits..... if you like the movie, the reviewer's opinion of it shouldn't change your mind....

I had the same thought process. John Q is a damn fine film, and it's a movie that I cannot wait to add to my Blu-ray library. But we must remember that one movie can be one guy's treasure yet the same film can be someone else's junk. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I loved it though, great flick.

OP: imo, you should PM the reviewer if you have a problem (based on opinion) with a review. no need to publicly call them out on something just because you personally disagree with it

You could always review it yourself when it releases too

I usually go more by the user reviews than the official reviews themselves because, as it was stated, that's just one person. You, I, and everyone else gets a better idea when 50 people review it IMO.

COMPLETELY agree. The movie was one big joke.

User reviews are usually a better judge of the movie... I find.

Blu-ray.com's 'Shawshank' reviewer for example.
