Default Where to buy Japanese versions of Studio Ghibli Blu-rays?

I've been searching all over the net, but I can't find any place selling Ghibli blu rays (in japanese). The whole set would be nice, but anything is fine too! Can anyone help?

I am sure many would agree with you.
Only problem is that none of those have been released as of yet.

These are the only two releases by Studio Ghibli. No others have been announced.

So would we. They don't exist. Does anyone have a point, here?

Any set of DVDs you see of Studio Ghibli titles is a bootleg

The two exceptions are the Borders exclusive giftset, and a limited to 2000 copies set in Hong Kong that comes in a very nice green and Tan box (manufacturer IVL).

Both cost over $200 SRP

The first ones will start to come out next spring with his new movie under current plans

Are you referring to Ponyo, or the new unnamed Ghibli movie?

Ponyo. Keep in mind that's Japan. It'll probably be 6-12 months before a domestic release, especially since we're all one big happy region

Does Ghibli plan to release them with English Subtitles? Or will we have to wait for Disney? I know a few Ghibli movies had english subs on the R2 release, but I can only guess America has to wait for a domestic version as we are all in the same region.

Good job reviving this thread (with hopefully new info) - I was wondering about it myself!

Ponyo is rumored to see a Japanese release in December. The US version should come around the same time.

haha, well played, Arbelon.

I'd have thought Japan would have released the full Miyazaki/Ghibli catalog on blu by now. But I guess waiting for Disney to do it will be just as effective by this point. Disney is probably prevented from releasing anything that Japan hasn't released, due to reverse importation fears. But once Japan starts releasing them, Disney will follow.
