Default High-Def recorders w/ burner

Yo people!

First post here :-)

I'm looking for a professional grade (consumer would suffice) High-Def video recorder than can burn either Blu-ray or DVD. Anyone have anything in mind? Thanks in advance for any help.

P.S. I'm looking for set-top box type and/or rack mountable

That depends on the country you live in, or on your willingness to buy online AFAIK.

I believe there are 1 or 2 direct to Blu-ray video cameras out there. Neither one has gotten the greatest review, and they are too expensive.
What you want is a camera that uses either the miniDV tapes or a digital storage that supports HD. Then import your video into a program like Premier Pro or Final Cut. If you do this, you can burn it to a Blu-ray properly, but you might also find that there is still a limited number of blu-ray burning computers out there, and Final Cut only works on Macs which is even more limited on it's BD burning capabilities (only 3rd party software and hardware right now).

I work for a company that installs A/V systems and a project we're working on has HD-video present and needed a way to store is and burn. The HD camera being used are broadcast quality, so there is no local storage. Oh well, thanks anyway.

You could try buying the Panasonic HD recorder with Blu-ray burner (the DMR-BS850) online, since it is the most 'international' one out there currently. Also, have a look at the top of this page and hit the link 'recorders' where the ones available in Japan are listed.

I don't know if you have enabled 'all countries' in your 'Settings: Site preferences' at the top right hand corner of this webpage, but just below that I see the following links:
