Default Star Trek Movie Collection- Packaging

Just wondering, does anyone know what type of casing the upcoming Star Trek film releases will have. Accoding to this review: http://www.dvdbeaver.com/film2/DVDRe...ne_blu-ray.htm the TV show comes in one case with a slipsleeve (which is what I was expecting), but for the movie six and trilogy sets, I'm thinking that each film will have its own case, possibly just those thin ones. But, if they do what will the cover art for each will be? If someone gets an early copy in the near future, it would be great if they could upload pics.

don't know how official these are... they are the Australian versions, couldn't find VI, and I did read they will be slim cases. But they seem to match all the box art out there. Not real exciting!! I'll def be doing some custom covers for these!!

They look like normal cases to me, mainly because the spine art doesn't look compressed and tiny.

All box sets are going to be slimpacks or flippy cases(more slim than flippy) so get used to it.

Welp...just looks like we will need more custom art so we can ace these pieces of crap cases. Steel books, Digi Books, etc...all crap on a shelf. Keep those wonderful customs coming!

Funny you should start this thread. I happened to check out my pre-order on Amazon and saw a new image on the listing that shows it's a slipcase holding seven cases with a clear sleeve that goes over it all. Here's the image; you should be able to zoom in on it as well.

I dont think I have heard anyone every say that they wanted 1. Everyone has different taste though. I found it a strange piece of boring dribble. (only to rhyme w/ 'tribble')

After watching it though..the thrill wore off

I agree, as a 14 year old going to see this in 1979 I was BORED beyond belief. I grew up with the series in the 70's and was expecting so much more especially after Star Wars, Close Encounters, Superman and Alien. I will never forget Kirk's (what seemed like) 20 minute ride around that ship.

Yeah, I just bought part one on DVD a while ago. Was my first trek movie. Holy Jesus I was 45 minutes in and he was still going around that damn ship! I turned it off.

I may be the only person on the planet that thinks the first movie is the best, and that they decend in quality. Although Kahn is damn good entertainment. The first movie was a really deep science fiction story that tried to eliminate some of the camp from the series. Klingons don't speak English and such. I certainly understand people thinking it is boring, but I really like it. I also prefer the theatrical cut instead of the fancified version. I will say the last one is better than the fifth (which is the worst in the series to me).

I think the opening sequence of the first ST movie was one of the very best--of any Sci-Fi film ever. The stiring music, the way-different looking Klingons, the portend of major disaster heading toward Earth.

It may have been that awesome beginning that made the rest of the movie rather anti-climactic, and, well, boring for a number of viewers.

Watching the movie in the theater on the first showing in Colorado Springs where I lived at the time, I thought we were in for a real treat. Then the whole thing slowed down and the awe I was feeling sorta melted away.

Khan will always be the best but I LOVE ST:TMP. It's the most "sci-fi" of any of them. I've heard all the complaints about it being boring since 1979 and the people who say it was boring just didn't get it. I'll take ST:TMP over double-dumb ass Kirk and hippie Spock.

Ah, but he did so to the strains of arguably Jerry Goldsmith's best ever score. Reason alone to place ST:TMP in the higher echilons of Trek movies!

For those interested in buying seperate movies and not the entire set, Amazon UK has some single movies up for sale at a reasonable price of 13 something GBP:
