Default Str-dg820 + Rm6750 = ?

So it's spring time, had a pretty tough year at university but I managed to bring my GPA up to a 4.0 (woot!), and I want to reward myself... with a new audio system!
I went shopping around today and Future Shop (the Canadian Best Buy) had, what I thought was, a pretty good deal. They are selling the Sony STR-DG820 and the Polk RM6750 speakers for $799.
Before I buy anything I wanted to check with the 'experts' (you here on the blu-ray forums because you have all helped me much more than any store sales person) to see if this really is a good deal for me.
I have a PS3, Sony HDTV (check my sig for the model number, I can't remember it right now), and a pretty dissipointing Sony home theatre in a box set up. I am usually living in an apartment or a small-ish basement at home in the summer so I dont really NEED the 7.1 speakers at this point in my life, but having this receiver will keep my options open for the future.. which is nice.

Just to note, I live in Canada and the prices here are not nearly as good as some in the states and I would presonally rather NOT buy online. I will also be able to price match this system with a friend of the family at a different company and he will probably lower the price about $100-$200 for me. So is roughly ~$650 a good deal on this set up. Will it decode all the blu ray audio's I want it to. And will it blow away what im using now?

Thanks all!

Great entry-level stuff. Check the pricing though, since I am sure of comparisons of dollar values. Around here in the USthat runs for $500ish.

It will decode all the high definition codecs. Blowing away, that's up to you to decide, but it will be a substantial improvement. I do know of price differences between here and Canada, so I can't recommend something else for the price since I don't know how easy or cheap it will be up there. Maybe somebody else from Canada can chime in. But it is a great way to get introduced to high-def audio.
Thanks all!
The uhh, stuff in bold.

I have the system setup, and I love it. The bass is deep, the sounds are pretty crisp. And the fact that it passes audio via HDMI is a plus. But I got my system for a fraction of that $800 figure
