sony bdp350 and avi - Blu-ray Forum

I have a couple of avi movies on a dvd-r (home movies) that I want to send to my grandparents to play on their sony bdp350. Does it have an xmb similar to the ps3, where they can just go into a video folder and select the avi's?

No. Convert them into a DVD-Video or AVCHD disc.

how exactly do you convert them, i have my grandma's 90th birthday as an avi file, and i would like to make a few copies on dvd for my mom and a few others, i am on a macbook if that matters!?

also would it be posable since this is a smaller file to put this on a blank cd, instead of a blank dvd, and still have it work?

Instructions...and it does have a CD option.

Thanks everyone. I figured since it's a Sony, it would play avi's like my PS3.
Coastered a lightscribe!

ok... as a side note, will the 350 play mp4 and/or mkv files?

Use Handbrake, MPEG Streamclip, etc. to convert into a format acceptable to iMovie.
