Default Trouble Finding X-Men Trilogy in Stores?

Please forgive me if this post is in the wrong forum.

I went out on Friday to go pick up the X-Men Trilogy box set that had come out on Tuesday. I had a delighful burden of having a ton of Target Gift Cards so I thought, I'd go pick it up.

I went to every Target in my nearest 3 ZIP codes and no one had seen it or knew about it. They had the Blu Ray individual titles, but not the Trilogy set.

I went back home and their website was showing "Sold Out" as well as Best Buy's website. I know that ordering online has a better chance of finding in stock, but I want my instant gratification of pay now, watch today if you want. Did anyone else have trouble finding the X-Men trilogy at a store near them?

That's what I thought. Stupid Target. Nation's 3rd largest retailer, nation's 3rd lowest IQ when it comes to ordering sure to sell titles. They had plenty of copies of The Sprit and Wild Hogs, though.

I went to Meijer, then Walmart, then K-Mart, then Target before I finally picked it up at Best Buy on Saturday. I didn't even get the bonus movie cash either.

I noticed the same thing. However, Best Buy usually gets a bunch of copies, and they did. I got mine from Best Buy on Friday, and they had at least 50 there, and a bunch of empty spaces from where many were aready sold. I wish Target had it because its closer, and the staff down here are friendly.

I have a Best Buy, Target, Wal-mart and Kmart and none of them had it the day it was released. I ended up having to go to a Hastings about 30 miles away, and got the last copy.

I had to do the same thing with Splinter.
Some just get so popular they sell out and others they just supply very few copies.

I picked up the trilogy on Wed and the BB I went to only had three copies for sale. Used the PJ coupon and the cashier initially only gave me $5 off. I then pointed out that

I should be getting $10 off since it's Blu-ray; she then said "it's your lucky day" and gave me another $10 off the set
The guy behind me who I had been discussing the boxset with noticed the xtra discount and said I guess it's my lucky day also!! No wonder they were selling so well

I wish your lucky day would have carried over to me and had a Target that actually ordered copies be near my house. Apparently some areas of Texas are allergic to X-Men. It wasn't like X-Men is some sort of rare, cult movie, and there were two page spreads out in many magazines about the Blu-Ray trilogy being released. If Target were a government entity, I'd have a recall election over this mishap. Fortunately, if missing X-Men on Friday was the worst of my problems, then it must not be too bad. I just know now that when given a choice between Target gift cards and anyone else who sells blu-ray, I'll take the other. Target will order the Spirit, and the individuals, but not the box.

I picked my copy of the trilogy up at BB on the Tuesday. Over the week I visited a couple Target stores, there were no box sets to be found. In truth, BB, by far, has the best selection of Blu Rays, while Target and Walmart are severely lacking.

Generally speaking it seems to me that Target doesn't get ALL of the new releases, even the major ones, all of the time. It's quite frustrating.
