Default Extras

I dont know if anyone has noticed alot of movies dont come with any extras or very few. Big Fish had a commentary, Silent Hill had none whatsoever, many others when I look at the box dont mention any extras either. Most notably is Kingdom of Heaven Directors Cut. On DVD there is a massive 4 disc set with tons of extras and all the deleted scenes put back in. The Bluray version has just the one disc with all 194 minutes of the movie including the deleted scenes.

I personally like what they are doing with all the movies only one version comes out. There isnt a directors cut or a super special edition just the one movie which keeps thing from getting sloppy. The real question is do you think after Bluray establishes itself they will change the policy? Then we will see companies releasing a regular version and the a slightly more expensive version with more things on it.

You can be sure that the double dipping continues in HD once the format is established.

I dont think all companies will double dip though, just warner which will just be another problem fror them. Disney seems to be doing things right with pirates and all there special features.
