The Red2Blue program if you have it on HD-DVD, but even then, the Blu-ray has lossy DD audio, and the HD-DVD has DD+.

They're the same bitrate, and DD+ is also lossy. For an example, here is the HighDefDigest review's description of the Ocean's Thirteen Blu-ray audio track: "This Blu-ray edition of 'Ocean's 13' features an Dolby Digital 5.1 surround mix (640 kbps) that's identical to the DD Plus track on the HD DVD (also 640 kbps)."

Yes, they are both lossy -- I know that, and often times a re-release is direct port of the audio and video when switching formats especially from WB, but DD and DD+ are not the same and just because they may be identical in this release don't make that assumption.

I was not making a general assumption, I was replying directly to your assertion that the Blu-ray is inferior in audio quality to the HD DVD. Just trying to help the guy make an informed decision should he be interested in exchanging the HD DVDs.

I hesitated for the longest time on this boxset, because of no lossless soundtrack. I am glad I bought it. If you love the movies, go for it. All three are dialogue driven, and sound really good.

They beg for a re-release with a lossless audio soundtrack. Saying on the cover that it has "Hi Def Audio" is very misleading, and as good as it may sound, a lossless audio soundtrack would be even better.

I've heard the transfer on these is not worth it. Can anyone confirm?

They are decent, but again, the set begs for a re-release with WB upgrading the PQ and AQ.

Okay, then I'll probably wait a while to see if an upgrade will happen. I love the Ocean's movies, but I can wait.
