Default New to this, need some advice.

Okay, I recently invested in a Samsung UE40B7020 screen which I am really happy with, I also own an xbox 360, however after lurking on this forum I have come to the conclusion that I want to take the plunge and start a blu-ray collection, however I'd like some advice on setup.

Basically, I'd like to be able to play blu-ray movies, as well as store and watch the occasional .mkv file, is there currently anything that's able to meet my needs or will I have to invest in a blu ray player and a media streamer? I want to avoid having to tinker about with converting files if possible. It seems you folk are much more 'in the know' about this stuff, so any advice would be greatly appreciated. My computer is a macbook pro by the way.

Cheers

Does the ps3 support .mkv file playback? I have been reading that it doesn't.

The TV is absolutely fantastic, however I'm probably not going to be able to give you an in depth technical review like the regular enthusiast, the picture is absolutely stunning and it runs games on my xbox very well, my only gripe is that it is advertised as 'supporting mkv', which it does, but there's almost no way for me to stream large mkv files from my computer to the tv, only thing that has worked so far is smaller files on a pen drive - have yet to try attaching an external hard drive to it as I don't have one. Overall - you won't be disappointed by this tv.

well aside from converting the mkv files, you can stream them to a PS3 using media players such as Tversity or the PS3 Media Server (PMS).
