TH-M50HD18 Panasonic any good? - Blu-ray Forum

I was looking at lower priced tv's such as this one and i can only purchase a tv from walmart or sams club (due to having various gift cards from there) and was wondering if this is any good? I can find a few reviews but i honestly don't know if its just the average joe consumer who is rating it or a knowledged person.

Mostly wondering how things look with a tv that big and only 720p. Also about the blacks, color, etc.

I have a 720p/768p Panny myself and it looks great. I'm thinking about an upgrade, but its still an awesome set. It will go in the bedroom if I do upgrade. I was just in Walmart the other night and I saw the model you are referring to. I would guess that its a re-badged X1 or a re-badge of last year's PX80U. Even in the store it looked very good sitting next to some of the LCD's. Its a great budget TV...even better than a lot of higher end LCD's you'll come across. Blacks on my set are pretty good, but the newer models are much better so you should be pretty happy with that set.
