The Oily Maniac

I screened this last night. The film elements and transfer were absolutely perfect. It looked like a brand new movie. I enjoyed it, but hoo boy is it a goofy movie. It reminded me a lot of Toxic Avenger. The rubber suited monster did lots of fighting and jumping around considering how big and oily it was. Lots of great 70s Hong Kong flavor to the costumes and sets. Overall a nice goofy monster movie.

Oh I forgot! Lots of exposed female breasts too!

I watched this several weeks back and thought it was definitely a tremendously dumb, fun little movie, and probably my favourite of the non martial arts Shaws I’ve seen.
Was I right in thinking that the Jaws theme (or something exceptionally close to it) was in it whenever the animated oily stain was creeping around? That certainly added to the enjoyment.

I didn't hear Jaws, but there was some really weird music choices in the film. Yes, human.

I thought this film was an absolute scream, good transfer as well.
