For Steak...Peter Luger Steakhouse in Bklyn, one of the best steakhouse there is make sure you bring cash they don't take card( unless they change it) also try Carnegie Deli one of the best pastrami around.

If you're in the area, try Katz's Deli in the Lower East Side. There's a lot of history there (they've been around for over 120 years), and it's fun to just go inside and look at the pictures on the walls, but the food is good too. Just don't lose your ticket, or you'll end up paying more for your lunch than you'd really want to.

I definitely second this choice. I love their steak. Great food but it is on the pricey side.

Make sure you get a dirty water hotdog. Carnegie Deli is a good choice as recommended by Moefiz. I'd also suggest Ray's Pizza.

Where are you from? I'm about 3 hours from the city. Not too bad. Usually go to Yankees game. I was just in Manhattan for the Auto show last week. That's usually a good time(if you can avoid the crowds).
