Default The Root Beer/Gourmet Soda thread

I LOVE Root Beer-plain and simple. Here are a couple of my favorites:

Sprecher I've tried some of their other sodas and WOW!!!! The Cream Soda and Ravin' Red are

Virgil's Micro Brewed

Anyone else have any favorites sodas?

[Show spoiler] Barq's

A&W is pretty good stuff too!

MUG is my nomination for worst root beer ever...along with those Walmart brands and such.

A&W is my personal weapon of choice, but the one in the glass bottle (I can't remember the name for the life of me) is supposed to be great too.

Root beer is underrated, fact.

Barq's...

I got hooked when I went to the University of Dubuque.....Came back home to GA back in the late 80's and the closet place that sold it was in Florida.....So every vacation we took to Florida, I would stop by a Winn Dixie and pick up 10 cases and bring it back home......

Then in 2000 or 2001 it was introduced to GA....

I LOVE A&W and it annoys me to no end that none of the fast food joints around me carry it. It's always Barq's they carry. ugh.

A&W almost tastes too sweet for me. I think IBC is the BEST hands down. If I can't find IBC, Barq's is the next best thing.

If anyone here is near a "Big River Grill" restaurant, the root beer there is incredible too. They brew it themselves and it's fantastic.

Sorry, while IBC is quite good (as is Barq's)

I'd have to go with Boylan's as the winner.

Not only is their Root Beer amazing, they also have a regular Birch Beer and a Creamy Red Birch Beer (both also amazing)

and for those that don't like root beer or birch beer (don't know why they would be in this thread) their Black Cherry would also fit into the amazing category. Plus their Orange and Grape are quite good as well. Basically all their sodas are good (Cola and Ginger Ale).
