I've been messing with this for a short while and have also tried to find some information in google and such but still unsuccessfully. So I decided to try my luck her.
I own a SONY BDP-S550 player,I got it connected to the internet with sorta like a "wireless router" or wireless G gaming adapter.I also own a PS3 and I know that there are several ways to transfer files and media through the network with softwares like "PS3 Media Server" and even WMP11/12. Neither the ps3 media server s/w that I use on my PC nor WMP11 didn't detect the BDP-S550 and I can't seem to get a way to tranfer files from my computer to the BDP-S550 player. What s/w do I need to use or what settings do I need to configure in order to get this to work and to able to tranfer my HD movies/music/photos to this blu-ray player? Thanks in advance Edit: Even when I tried to transfer some of my files with an external hard drive of 320 GB the player didn't detect it(need to be mentioned that was before I updated the player to it's latest version-if it makes a different at all) Last edited by gever570; 05-08-2009 at 06:33 AM. |

Also, go ahead and check out some literature on BD-Live. I'm kind of surprised you bought the player you did without knowing what BD-Live is. It was one of the main reasons I bought the player myself. ![]() Good luck! ![]() |

The PS3 is your only option here, the simple server, or WMP11
will work, I like the simple server software better, just use your PS3 to host your ripped movies and cd,s, the BDP-s550 will not, I tried to find in my network, never could. The one thing I wish the PS3 did, when you copy your cd,s to it, I wished it retained the album art for the cd,s instead of the generic music art it displays. |
