Default 5.1 to 7.1 on onkyo 606

Is there any way to ''map'' (matrix?) a 5.1 stream to all speakers (7.1)?

My older (and crappy) Gigaworks 750 had an option to position the rear audio on the side speakers as well.

Thanks in advance.

The 606 can't matrix pcm 5.1 to 7.1 so if you want 7.1 you will have to bit stream. The ps3 and your hddvd player however cannot bitstream the hidef audio codecs (dolby true hd or dts hd ma)so you will not be able to matrix them.Hope that helps

I think, and I'm not sure about this, but the ones with the THX Ultra 2 certification should have this:
• THX Ultra2 Cinema
This mode expands 5.1-channel sources for 7.1-
channel playback. It does this by analyzing the composition
of the surround source, optimizing the
ambient and directional sounds to produce the surround
back channel output.
So the 806 and higher should have this.
Not 100% so look into it a little more yourself to be sure.
