Default Pioneer VSX-819H or the 919H

Has anybody had a chance to listen to this line of receivers yet? They just started stocking them at my local BB.

Reviews anybody?

I would say that you should buy the one that best suits your needs, just don't "settle" for one, make sure its the one you really want, and with that said, its always better to stretch you budget a little more then you want so that you are skimping out on things. IMO

I think I've decided on the 819, because all of my components use HDMI, so the upgrade isn't a big deal. Not-to-mention, even if I DID want to connect something that doesn't use HDMI I am fine switching my television's components.

Also, I will never do a 7.1 setup, so I don't mind.

Speak the truth, brother! I've learned this one the hard way.

The 819 to the 919 is a step up because the 919 and the 1019 share the same internals, including the I believe better DACs, while the 819 is with the lower ones

I got the manuals, and the 9-1019 share the same one, while the lower ones share another

Just food for thought to check out, I don't know it for sure because I don't have time to research it today

I think the 919 & 1019 also have the Advanced MCACC, as opposed to the 819 (& 519) which only have "regular" MCACC. Not sure how much difference that makes, but you might want to keep that in mind before purchasing. Maybe someone who has tried them out could provide more info.

I purchased the 819 and love it the one big thing it has going for it is that it comes with the Ipod cable to hook it up the USB on the front which is awesome. It also DTS-HD and Dolby TrueHD which is nice for being $300 USD it is an awesome receiver.
