Default 007: Quantum of Solace Inquiry

Hey guys, I am thinking of picking up a copy of 007: Quantum of Solace (PS3) at Best Buy, however, I am not sure if this game is really worth it even though its on sale at $9.99. For those of you that own it or have played it, what can you tell me about the storyline, controls, game play, etc? Thanks.

I've heard it's VERY short/repetitive. I wouldn't buy it.

Notice OP that he said HAD. Maybe that should be a hint of warning to you.

I just bought it for $10 and think it was worth the cash. I'm not about to tell you it's Killzone 2 or something, but I'm not mad that I spent the $10 (has trophies too).

The downside for me was that it focused too much on Casino Royale and not enough on QoS.

And I really hate when a game's AI knows your exact location no matter what. At times I'd hear "we're taking fire, send backup" despite not being in the "room" really and not firing a shot.

However, there was a nice mix of weapons and situations.

I'd give the game about a 6-7 out of 10, which is well above $10 status.

Finished the game on newb setting (not sure why) and it took probably 7 hours. I'll be playing it again on 007 setting for the trophies.

The only game at BB that probably isn't even worth $10 is Hail to the Chimp.

And Jericho. Don't forget Jericho (well, since it's not worth $10, maybe you should). Oh and I don't care for overlord but I hear their are people that like it.

Anyway, my haul from the BB was:

- Singstar Country Bundle (w/ two mics and USB converter)
- Singstar Vol. 2
- Singstar ABBA

All for $30 (a normal Singstar game is $40 and the bundle with mics is $60). I must have saved $100-$200 dollars easily.

I MIGHT get 007 tomorrow because of the trophies and because it is $6 around here to rent a game so why not buy it for that price. Anyway, is it sad that now that games have trophies/achievements I now find myself not wanting to play the ones that don't as much anymore?

Default 007: Quantum of Solace Inquiry II

Hey guys, I just checked Best Buy's website and it only lists the XBox 360 version for $9.99 whereas the PS3 version is $29.99? I also went to my local Best Buy to purchase the PS3 version and it too costs $29.99. Hence, is it only the XBox 360 version that is on sale?

The PS3 version that is on sale at BB for $9.99 is the special edition that comes with the T-shirt. It is odd that it is this version that is on special. The game by itself is not on sale. I got lucky and picked up 2 copes of 007 QoS, both in a box with the black T-shirt. I think the game is quite good. The single person game is good and the online has quite a few maps and game modes. For $10.00 it is a steal if you like shoot games. It is no CoD but I think it is a decent game.

Yes, only the special editions are on sale- although it's not so special, all you get is a shirt.

And I just realized you are in my PS3 friend's list. Did't even make the connection.

My son bought it a few months ago when it was on sale for $39 at Target.

It wasn't worth it at that price.

For $10, it is however.

I hope the next Bond game is a helluva lot better.

I got it for $9.99 and I LOVE it. I have spent almost 20 hours on the MP game alone. Honestly, I like 007 MP more than COD4 MP.

For $9.99, I was impressed. I would still happily pay $19.99 for this game, but not over. The game itself is very fun, but it focuses more on Casino Royale like one member said. The graphics are okay, but the characters don't really look like the real actors. Overall, I still thought it was really fun and worth the price of $9.99. I would give it a try.
