Default Dear God No! - Limited Print run #3

http://www.ebay.com/itm/DEAR-GOD-NO-...item2337b3273d

Ordered one on the recommendation of Mr. Kriztoffer Swank. Not sure what the hell I'm going to do with the VHS though

Looks like it's limited to 100 copies. 10 gone so far

Find a VCR and watch it, because it's an interesting alternate cut.

I'm a bit confused about it being limited to 100. I thought all copies had sold out. Either copies were held on to and not sold, or more were printed. I'm gonna assume it's the former rather than false advertising.

Anyway, great movie if you're into cult/horror/sleaze/exploitation/biker/blood'n'boobs flicks, really intense and well-made and darkly comical.

And just so nobody buys it and complains due to not reading the fine print, it's a BD-R, probably burned in the director's basement and sold directly by him, and the transfer is excellent.

Here's a review.

Just bought one...why not? I feel like if I don't like it this is one of those things I could turn a decent profit on once they sale out.

I wish they would do a proper pressing of this title. Just can't bring myself to purchase a bd-r. And unfortunately I don't own a VHS player at this time so I wouldn't be able to watch the alternate cut.

The director had mentioned talks of a possible distributed release (dunno if it'd be the studio who handled the DVD or someone else), but that was over six months ago and I haven't heard a peep on the matter.

As for selling it, I sold my BD/DVD combo a year ago on Amazon (wish I hadn't) for the same price I bought it, so you'll probably at least get that much back.

Is it really good or at least fun?

I love the retro grind house of Grindhouse and the Hobo With A Shotgun original trailer, but not the Hobo film or the Black Dynamite film. Even though they all do it somewhat, I found the latter two to spend most of their time winking at the audience about how clever and retro they were.

I use to have the BD-r but sold it because I hate -r releases, The UK has the alternate grindhouse cut on DVD and the censored version on DVD from Monster Pictures

I like it a lot. I view it as a more authentic "exploitation throwback" than a lot of other films. Like The Manson Family and Modus Operandi, it has a more true love of the genre(s) and doesn't really wink at the camera at all. It feels more like a wild carnival ride that good flicks like I Drink Your Blood do.

I mean, I love Hobo with a Shotgun, Father's Day, Grindhouse, and Machete, but Dear God No! is unlike those. And while it was shot on 16mm and mastered in HD, there's very little in the way of "fake grindhouse effects," at least on the theatrical cut on the Blu-ray. (The VHS cut has quite a lot of them.) It just feels like a '70s exploitation flick that was obviously made in recent years.

By the way, it's disgustingly brutal at times. I mean, it has comedic violence as well, but a couple of scenes—one especially—are really grim. You'll want to take a shower after seeing this and exfoliate extra hard, if that sorta thing interests you.

22 sold, 8 available.

And here's the Blu-ray.com page (cover image incoming, though it's just the lo-res pic from the eBay listing cropped to just show the front).

Just realized the cartoon boobies probably means the cover won't get approved for the Blu-ray.com database, lol.

Edit: Just uploaded an alternate cover (higher res, censored, yellow BG from the standalone VHS but otherwise the same cover), maybe that'll get approved.

The blu-ray.com page for the other 2 releases have them, so it shouldn't be a problem

Below my order information it says this:

This listing was removed by eBay. If you already paid for the item, we recommend that you wait 10 days from the expected delivery date to see if the item arrives. If you did not pay,you are no longer obligated to pay for this item. If you have a problem with the purchase, you can resolve the problem by filing a claim through our resolution center.

So, not sure if eBay pulled it because of the artwork, or if it sold out (there were like 5 copies left last I saw)

Bummer. This has been a title that I've been wanting to see. Hopefully another run will surface.

There've already been a limited standalone Blu-ray release, a limited BD/DVD combo, a limited tape, and now this limited BD/tape combo (which began selling last summer, I believe). Unless he does like a limited BD/dildo combo, I'm not sure what else he could do without somewhat cheapening the signed and numbered limited releases.

Unless a studio release is just around the corner.
