I am kind of confused with Disney lately. They have not given us a release date for Bolt at all. Then comes Bugs Life for region A and we get rumours of Monsters Inc about the same time.
Unless Monsters Inc for the A market is to be released with some other Pixar event, that makes no sense at all. Looking on amazon.co.uk, there is no mention of Bugs Life at all. |

Disney is all about money... They seem to be selling their DVDs including the recent releases (Aladdin, Robin Hood, Sword in the Stone, etc...) as they begin to drip feed us the back catalogue on blu ray starting at the begining.
I remember when I bought Lion King on DVD, it was impossible to find. They had released it for a limited period of 6 months, before deleting it in order to make it as collectable as possible. I got mine from the USA, where it had also been deleted from the stores. I expect blu ray will be the same. Sleeping Beauty and Pinnochio (just released) will be deleted as the catalogue builds up, thus making people (who understand the game- i.e. collectors) rush out to buy them in a panic. As far as the DVD collection is concerned, if Disney is selling all it can now, then it is either worried for its survival as a company or it really is the death of DVD as a profitable format. |

Oh I hope so. The current release schedule is not nearly fast enough for their catalogue.
It was different years ago when vaulting the film went in cycles (one per nine months) to enable them to be released in order over & over (e.g. every seven years), but it's a totally different scenario now when they've dozens of films to release |

I can't imagine the Pixar movies not coming to the region B. I really can't. I must have them so that's why I can't

Bug's Life is released in the US to coincide with the Theatrical release of UP. Now since UP opens Worldwide from June to October Disney will release Region B (and C for that matter) Pixar films to go along with UP and that of course delays everything.
Also for example in the German Market Disney never announces stuff 5, 6 or even 7 months ahead. Usually it's 2 months max so it's a lot of guessing and rumours before an official announcement is made. I'm sure that we'll see some Pixar release before UP opens here end of September and then again when UP comes to Blu which is around February (that again is pure guessing from my part). Whether its Nemo, Monsters Inc. or Bug's life we'll see... However the US Bug's Life release is Region Free so if you don't need a translated version just buy the US one. |
