Default Boxing Day sales: opinions on these speakers

Mirage 150 center speaker $128
Mirage bookshelf omnipolar $148/pair
KEF bookshelf C1 $148/pair
KEF Q towers $598/pair

Looking to build a SS SYSTEM. I just purchased a new 60 in plasma, so my old SS (ken wood) cannot connect to the new tv

What receiver should I get with the above speakers?????

Yeah... the C series is looked down on by Kef lovers as well... you really have to go after the Q series and higher, from what Ive read on other forums.

No, I am thinking of KEF Q SERIES TOWERS (5.25) these are on for $595/pair

Either a KEF Q series center

Or Martin Logan motion 8 center

And MartinLogan surrounds

Ok I was not sure if you were leaning towards Fluance or Kef C-Series was .

Have you considered any other options?

Have you considered Monitor Audio BX2?

http://www.audioadvisor.com/prodinfo.asp?number=MRBBX2

They may not be the same as the Q-Series but they certainly gove the C-Series Kef a run for their Money.

Just some food for taught.

You can pm me if you'd like. I know several MA dealers in Montreal.

Here enter your postal code you might be able to find the nearest dealer. Worse case scenario enter a postal code of the biggest city near you as their search engine is not terrible.

Check out my gallery, I use them for my fronts.

Where is your gallery?

I found some audio stores in my area. Going to go audition some speakers. I know this, I do NOT like a big booming bass, reminds me if these kids in their cars listening to the rap music. I can't stand that. I like webber net classical radio stations or mariachi bands from Mexico or Louie Armstrong and classic rock like Led Zep.

follow that lynk and you should be able to see Cole's setup.

As for Bass as long as the frequency response of the speaker is pretty flat you should be ok, technically big boomy bass in car audio is colored as those kids try to put as much gain as possible to get as much spl as they can.

The BX from Monitor Audio should be pretty decent for their asking price, have fun auditioning.

Very nice setup. How do the speakers attach to the stands?

I was thinking of using the monitor audio as surround speakers

I use Velcro Dots, (from Walmart or anywhere actually).

Stick 4 of them on the speaker stand top plate, then place the speaker on top.

These stands are heavy, and the speakers aren't going anywhere.
...(unless you have Crazy Cats or Dogs in the house ? )
