Question Help!!! Please!!!

I hooked up my ps3 to a 32' sharp 720p & i dont get a picture or sound. how can i make this work!!

Sounds like the setting in your PS3. Did you just get the PS3? If not what did you have it hooked up to before? How is it hooked up? HDMI, standard cables, or HD cables? You haven't given us enough information help you.

i had it plugged in a 1080p aquos..moved it to a sharp 720p. its connected hdmi. all i did was unplug it from the 1080p and plugged it to the 720p

when in standby mode, hold down the power button and it will beep once, keep holding it down until it beeps several quick times, this resets the output.

You need to reset your setting then. You should have set the video output to 720p first. Since the PS3 is set to a higher resolution then what the TV you are now using is capable of is the reason you get no picture. Follow RichiPuppy's advice and see if this helps.

it work!! your awesome!!! now its reading @ 1080i. would it be better to change it to 720p

yeh it would i think....
most ps3 games are rendered at a native 720p anyways.

The PS3 will change to the correct resolution. You don't need to force it...
