Thumbs up I am feeling the Mothers day wrath.....

Anyone else cranking it out for Mother's Day? Yesterday I was up at 6am laying 3 yards of mulch I had delivered, I love doing outside landscaping as long as its my own yard.
Today I decided I would start the laundry and at least get it washed(I don't fold, despise it). SO Holly Homemaker it is for me today

Any of you guys doing anything special, other than getting a card or taking her to dinner........those are easy. I figure why I am at it I might as well watch a couple chick flicks

I've basically been a full-time landscaper for the past two weeks.... so none of that is surprising to me.... but today, the plan is to go to a nursery and pick out a nice redbud, or flowering dogwood...... (or something else... but that's what we like from what we've seen at other homes)

We also want some climbing/flowering vines to put up with a trellis (sp?) but we need perenials.... and what we've looked at so far are all annuals (except the one smart-A$$ said "Well... they're perenials if you live in Florida" )

I'll let you know what we decide on though...... Trees aren't cheap though.... So I'm not really looking forward to the trip!!!! (actually.... "Dirt" isn't even cheap....... dang.... getting old sucks!)

For my wife on this mother's day, I'll be doing laundry, making sure dishes are done, emptying the garbage, keeping the house clean in general, running errands, coaching/managing my oldest son's little league (and later in the year basketball and soccer) team...all while being the breadwinner of the family as well and the one who's always looking to better our stability and future.

Basically no change from my normal routine.

But she does a great job with our kids, and that's enough of a trade-off for me. BBQ at a family member's house with strawberry shortcakes and strawberry daiquiris for the ladies.

My thoughts for mothers/fathers day just tend to make me a bad mood. I wonder who made up these days. Just another reason to make you broke.

Only days I car are bday, x-mas, and maybe anniversary. Other than that, I'm not sure why it's so speacial. That's my rant of the day.

There's a mob of token soccer people yelling at their 4 year-old kids to "kick the ball Johnny!" across the street and the neighborhood just got buzzed by what looked like 3 U.S.M.C. Sea Knight helicopters. Edit: Add a CH-53 Sea Stallion/Super Stallion to the list. Holy Jeebus that thing was huge! All those couldn't have been more than 500 feet. A hilarious way to start Mother's Day.

I just buy my mom stuff. I already bought a lot but now that I think about it I'll get her a book she wants.

That way something will come she won't expect.
