Heard the same thing about Bale but which character will be playing as? The movie is supposed to take place in one of those futuristic-looking places where just about everything is destroyed

He plays a new character who will have a small part in the next movie and a large part in the one after.

I still think whether all of this happens depends on the success of the TV series.

Most interesting is that John Connor (Christian Bale) is NOT the main character in the fourth film, but rather will have a more sizable role in the fifth movie.

Instead the main character is Marcus, a Riddick-esque guy who was 'put out of commission' before the nuclear holocaust and wakes up on post-apocalyptic earth around 15 years before the future shown in the original "Terminator".

No actor has yet been cast in the role but they will be required for all three films and will be the 'star' of the new trilogy which is apparently getting good buzz from those who've read the script and all call it epic in scope and great in terms of action.

That action includes battles with the rubber-skinned T-600 terminators, the differences between the humans and cyborgs are said to play a big part in the story, whilst the character of Reese (Michael Biehn in the original film) has a scene with Connor.

Can't wait.

I was just gonna post that from what I heard that it's not another Terminator movie but will actually be movies - a Trilogy to be exact and yes Christian Bale is attached.

I truly doubt that. The show is going to suck and will not determine anything other then who won't be acting or even working on the set of the next trilogy.

If anyone else has noticed, the TV show is on Fox and the movie rights are now in WB's hands (they made T3 and will be making the trilogy) so I agree that I don't think that the new movies would depend on thow the show does but I do think that it might generate more interest if the TV show does well on Fox and they (WB) are able to get the ball rolling on the movies in a timely fashion

I think the show looks good. Only time can tell with this type of hype.

I've seen the pilot, it's suprisingly good, and the Rivernator is pretty awesome.

I think it's on the website, or will be soon for streaming

The question is more "How's episodes 2-9?" (last pre-strike ep)
