I was in Upstairs Audio in Columbia, S.C. Saturday checking out the latest and they showed me a new item called a VuDu. It downloads movies via the internet in true 1080-P. It was pretty impressive. Borne Idenity has great audio and picture. No monthly fee, no contract. Anybody else have one or heard anything about it before I proceed futher.

Over the internet streaming to either buy or rent. Buying makes no sense as the HDD will be filled in no time.
This is why the Cable Cos and Telecos are going to start having bandwidth caps. They want to sell you content and not just bandwidth at flat rate to download content from another provider. Get ready for some really tall ADSL or Cable Internet bills in the future as these devices grow in use and the ISP's cash in on the bandwidth used to support them. |

Bluewater - sounds like maybe talking about the high quality of HDX 1080p movies via Vudu on the Blu-Ray forum is a No-No. PM me if you would like more information on the product.
Also - the box doesn't "stream" like the competition. It uses a peer-to-peer network to allow SD and HD movies to be watched instantly and without and pixelated lags or hiccups during playback. The XL box (model VBX1000) has a 1TB (terrabyte) HDD (hard disk drive) and thus it'll hold plenty of HD movies if they're purchased. The box allows you to rent or buy SD, HD, and HDX movies. The standard Vudu box has a 250GB harddrive built-in. Model No. VBX100 |

I'm content with my 2 1/2 year old 80 GB iPod. I can buy movies off iTunes or convert my DVDs and the converted product is SD. I can fit about 100 movies on my iPod along with my music. The most I had was when I had the video size at VCD and I had like 135 movies on my iPod.
