Default Problem with my Sony BDP-S360

I am trying to get DTS-MA out of my new BD player, but I can't see an option on the audio menu for bitstream or LPCM. Anyone have this problem? Know how I can fix it? I got the player so I could enjoy BD's the way they were supposed to be, and right now, am very disappointed with getting the stand alone. I have it running through the Pioneer Elite 03 AVR, with HDMI hookup. Please help! Thanks guys!

Audio Output Priority = HDMI
BD Audio = Direct

There is no PCM/Bitstream setting with the Sony players. When set to Direct, the player uses the HDMI handshake to determine what to output. If the receiver has the needed decoder, the player bitstreams.

Default Bitstream Issues

I have the Pioneer Elite 03 receiver, which does handle the decoding, but the BD player is still not bitstreaming. It just says PCM on my receiver. The sound is identical to the sound from playing a BD on my PS3.

+1

It's all in the nonenclature of Sony's menu. "Direct" is what you want over HDMI for bitsreaming the native audio content.

Incidentally, I have a Sony BDP-S350 with Pioneer Elite SC-05, and there's nothing like seeing the actual lossless codec on display on the receiver (bitstreaming).

What are your player audio settings?
