I seriously need an explaination...

This is by no means a "poor me" topic. But more of what the heck is going on here.
Since I've become a member here, I've had my HD pictures removed, posts removed, my topics have been merged onto other topics that have nothing to do with mine, banned cause a friend of mine at work opened a new account. Tonight alone, I got 3 messages erased. Mods seem to have their favorites.

Again, this is just to chat and find out that maybe I'm the one who's wrong. I don't know. Need help (clarification) I guess. LOL.

I just checked like about your last 50 posts and there are 10 deleted, 1 by me and one by another mod, and the other 8 by you, yourself. I deleted one that said wow this thread has been raped! and the other one was another wondering about another thread's changes which is obviously moderating thread actions like merging, streamlining, or thread/forum crapping elimination.

I am sorry if I/We have upset you and you feel I have singled you out, but in no way were you singled out,disciplined or even sent a comment about your posts.
Everyday I go into the movie area and I see the same issues, duplicate threads, unnecessary posts, ineffective thread titles. Now since you took the time I will take the time to create the thread , i will take time to explain my reasoning for why i do what i do.
Duplicate Threads, they serve no purpose really other than to clutter up the pages. If someone posts a thread and I saw a similar thread recently I tend to merge it with that thread, sometime with a redirect if necessary but if they are only posts apart I dont feel its necessary. We understand the search function doesn't offer the best results sometimes but that is a result of ineffective thread titles. If you start a thread about a movie, and thread title it "Man this was a Bummer" and the thread topic is the on the Blu-ray "The Dark Knight" well the search function will not function properly alot of the times and as months down the road i wanna research The dar Knight, I dont think to type in "Man this was a Bummer". I also understand that three letter titles like BIG are hard to search and a simple merge without a comment is most effective.
Un-necessary Posts, well this is a debatable topic in many regards, however if you type something that is off topic and is unrelated to the topic(or derails it), we may move it to the correct area or simply moderate it.The movies section gets alot of traffic and people dont want to read a thread on the movie Grease and see pictures of nasty bacon Grease on a dirty stove. it just doesnt belong. I and/or others may do this without any comment to the OP. For example, since this is your complaint about moderation, we removed only 2 comments that you posted. One was 'Wow this thread got raped fast! :mad' and the other was "and my post"
We all have daily responsibilities other than here and I try my best to keep up with the daily merging(as well as others). moving and retitling of threads in the Movies area. Its a full time endeavor and the added bickering, useless posting(+1), Spammers and even off topic-ness adds to that stress.However we do make mistakes, If you want to point out what was improperly merged we can correct it if needed.I skimmed over your posting history and didn't see anything that stuck out. I cant comment on the HT Pics, however its a Home Theater Gallery and I am sure Blu-ray.com doesn't wanna act as a photo hosting site for un-related photos. I use photobucket and they are free and you can host any photos you want as long as they aren't nudies.
We do have an Off Topic area that can be used for randomness and off topic things like such within the forum rules. We don't allow Politics or religion but everything else is game. You can even have your own thread there if you like

I hoped this offered some kind of direction as to what goes on behind the scenes. If you still feel we are are unfairly singling you out, PM an impartial mod or mods. They will look into it for you.

Thanks for clarifying. I'm trying to understand this whole merging thing. I guess what got me peeved last night was the merging of "TCM remake" with "10 new Warner titles announced." We just wanted to talk about newly announced TCM remake. But I do appreciate the fast response.

I've had issues with mods editing/merging/deleting threads or posts or my SIG for pete's sake, and the thing that I really have an issue with is there's usually NO pm's saying "hey, we made these changes to your post or thread or sig because of ...."

No, it's usually just them leaving some little comment in an edit line and that's it.

Then I go to see if my thread has any replies and I can't find it because they merged everything, and it's been knocked back to the second page or something. Or they merged everything, and the 1st post in the thread is a thread from weeks before that has no items in it, and just a "..........." but my newer thread with all my items for sale/trade is alllllllllll the way on the 3rd page. So people click on the thread, see nothing in the 1st one and just keep moving. Nice, fellas! Real nice.

Just today I realized that my sig had been edited by a mod because my blog apparantly is too hot for bluray.com, because it has some political stuff on it and a few of the videos has some adult language in it.

And that's fine, if someone has a problem with it I can understand that. I mean it's not like I was forcing the link on people, but hey...whatever. That's the rules here and it's whatever.

But what I don't appreciate is people editing my posts or the sig and not even having the common courtesy to let me know. What is it too much trouble to drop a line asking me nicely to remove my sig and explain why?

Too much trouble to perhaps remove it and send me a message letting me know that it was done? So I don't post without realizing it and having that stupid ass mod edit in my sig? I suppose that's too much to ask. *shrugs*

Well the trading forum rules specify that you maintain only one trade thread, You had 3 going at one time, Its against the trading forum rules and people report it. You can view his public profile and see all the trading forum threads. I look again after you posting this and you have 2 once again. I will no longer merge them, I will close them altogether.

As far as your sig, I have no idea what you are talking about unless you were advertising. I just removed it now as its inappropriate, If you have a problem with a mod, Doing that wont gander you any support

I wasn't advertising, it was simply a link to my personal blog. Wasn't a competing site or anything like that.

And what I put was no more inappropriate than people editing my sig for me without even letting me know.

And if we had the ability to edit our titles this could be avoided, I think. The thing with the multiple trade threads.

The only reason someone could have to start a new thread is because I set up a thread designed to trade items, and now I've only got items to buy.

There are those who won't even click on and look because they're not looking to trade, even though they don't know there are only buying options in there.

I don't know how easy that is, but I can almost guarantee you that the multiple threads from people will stop after that, because people can just edit the topic title to alter whatever they are trading.

like I would like to just make my thread title "Devil May Cry IV" and the price because that's all I have left to sell, but instead it's the whole "dreaming in blu trading thread" .

Just my thoughts. It's not my site, so I don't pretend I have input or should. Just throwing out my two cents.

all you have to do to have it changed is PM a mod, simple as that

or just call it "dreaming in blu's FS/FT thread"...i dont see what's the harm in that, if people want to look people will look. plus they can always specifically search for a movie or game in the trading forum and your thread will show up if you're selling it/want to trade

Everytime I try and be nice and send a pm it turns into an argument and its just not worth it.

Kinda seems like you're getting attitude. I personally think that a simple PM or a post in the thread is courteous and common-place. I know a lot of other forums do it. I don't really have any complaints personally with the moderating outside of that. I have no idea what the blog site was and it's certainly well within this site's rights to remove external links as it sees fit, but wouldn't simply saying "hey, just a head's up" PM be a good idea? If there was a reply personally I would just ignore it at that point as you've done your due diligence.

No attitude, just trying to avoid conflict as whenever I have sent pms in the past, that member gets a automatic attitude and pretty much tells me off. I have numerous pms where I was nice and I can show you the responses. I no longer do that for that reason.

Once you get the nit-picking pms on a daily basis you would understand
